Guide Kayak Trip

For the summer of 2025, we are looking for motivated, certified kayak guides ready to spend a season paddling through the Norwegian fjords with The Kayak Trip. Are you up for a paddling adventure? Apply now!

What will you be doing?

As a kayak guide, you will embark on a 3-week journey with a group of participants through the breathtaking Nærøyfjord in Norway. You’ll teach them the ins and outs of sea kayaking, ensure their safety, and create a fun and welcoming atmosphere. During the 4th week, you’ll stay at the basecamp in Fresvik, where you’ll handle logistics and provide administrative support. Your main tasks will include:

• Welcoming participants.
• Giving briefings and explaining sea kayaking basics.
• Joining weekly 6-day kayaking trips through the Nærøyfjord.
• Ensuring the safety of participants.
• Solving any problems that arise.
• Being available to answer guest questions.

What kind of person are you?

Are you the perfect kayak guide? Then you probably have several of the following qualities:

• You hold a kayak certification or have competitive kayaking experience (required).
• You’re independent and can work on your own.
• You’re social and love making people feel welcome.
• You have great stamina and thrive in social settings.
• You’re a natural problem solver.
• “Back to basics” is totally your thing.
• You’re passionate about nature and know how to inspire others with your enthusiasm.
• You speak French and English. Dutch is a plus.
• You hold a Category B driver’s license (required).

Period

We’re specifically looking for people available during August 2025 until September 5. However, if you’re fluent in both French and Dutch, there’s the opportunity to extend your contract and work for the entire season, from June to September.
